Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources professional to help foster a strong and engaging culture. In this role you will have a variety of responsibilities in multiple disciplines of HR. The role offers a good balance of employee interaction and support, working with leaders, and working on programs and projects. Our team is looking for a unique individual with a strong recruiting background that can take us to the next level, but also likes variety of work and interaction supporting employees.

Located in Ramsey, MN, Connexus Energy provides electric service to 130,000+ members in a 7-county area north of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. Key Responsibilities & Results:

Recruiting & Pre-Employment Processes

Lead the recruiting process for the organization to facilitate hiring practices that results in the efficient and effective hiring of quality candidates.
  • Develop the sourcing and recruiting strategy
  • Management of the talent acquisition system, job posting software and partner vendor relationships
  • Share in the recruiting work of the organization
  • Evaluate, recommend, and administer relevant and cost-effective pre-employment assessment tools
  • Evaluate, recommend, and administer the post-offer employment screenings (e.g., drug and background screenings

Benefits & Leave of Absence Administration

Manage and administer company health and welfare benefits, and miscellaneous benefit programs to include medical, dental, life, disability, tuition reimbursement, time off, and more.
  • Assist in determining the company's benefit offerings
  • Respond to employee benefit questions and assist in supporting and troubleshooting claims and other plan issues
  • Manage and administer the open enrollment process communication to employees and updating of all plan documents
  • Coordinate and manage employee leaves of absence for Short-term disability, Long-term disability, Workers Compensation, and Family Medical Leave
  • Work closely with employees and leaders on intermittent leaves, return to work, and accommodation situations
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientation and lead the company's on-boarding process

Training

Lead the training initiatives of the organization in support of company goals, values and our safety culture.
  • Work with leaders to identify required training, as well as training needs and gaps
  • Assists in research and identification of training options
  • Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of trainings and implements improvements
  • Supports the VP ES in designing programs for high potentials and future leaders
  • May conduct or assist in developing and conducting trainings.

Wellness

Create and implement initiatives in support of employee health and wellness.
  • Provide leadership of the biometrics program
  • Leadership of the Wellness Committee
  • Assist in the communication and promotion of wellness, evaluate effectiveness and suggest improvement


Required Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in recruiting, benefits, and other HR disciplines
  • Experience working with an HRIS, ATS or other HR software
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of sensitivity and ensures confidentiality
  • Proven ability to lead projects and facilitate teams
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Collaborative
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations effectively
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with various levels of employees and management


Preferred Talents, Skills, Expertise, Education:

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, CEBS)
  • Experience with ADP
  • Experience with iCIMS
