Architects, designs and provides governance of large-scale infrastructure technology solutions that deliver business value across the organization, continuously improving time to market for multiple business channels.

Job Description

Creates road maps that translate business requirements into infrastructure and cloud technology solutions. Specifies technology roadmaps for solutions, compliance of technical infrastructure development with company and industry standards within a functional area of accountability. Influences future infrastructure architecture and assesses emerging could and infrastructure technologies for application to Thrivent's initiatives and provides technical expertise for next-generation initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs and deploys multiple enterprise operating environments including new environments for future applications

• Leads development of architecture for current business solutions and future business needs such as the adoption of new public cloud platforms like AWS and Azure

• Acts as the subject matter expert for infrastructure and cloud technology solutions

• Leads setting architectural and technical standards for the practice and helps adopt new cloud-native platforms

• Drives automation to enable DevOps methods to develop and deployment of container-based and public cloud-based workloads (Openshift)

• Leverages infrastructure experience and technical leadership to drive best practices in Thrivent's environments

• Displays comfort dealing with ambiguity while solving complex problems, driving innovation, striving for continuous improvement while working across and with all aspects of Information Technology

• Mentors, trains, and coaches

• Influences technology strategy and advises senior leaders based on knowledge and perspective related to all facets of infrastructure both cloud-based and on-premise including but not limited to network, storage, servers, middleware, database web infrastructure, and configuration management

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in MIS, Computer Science, or related field

• 8+ years of experience in Technology related field including 3+ years prior lead experience

• Expert knowledge of infrastructure architecture both on-premise and cloud-based

• Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking, and leadership skills

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Advanced degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science, or related field

• Understanding of Thrivent's Technology capabilities

• Experience with AWS, Azure, OpenShift, Networking, Infrastructure, Servers and Storage

*Must be able to work between the core business hours of 8 AM and 4 PM CST

*Some travel required once Thrivent has deemed it safe to travel (10% or less)
