Facility Carpenter

The Facilities Carpenter demonstrates the ability to estimate materials needed to complete the job and orders supplies in advance of a job so it can be done on schedule; demonstrates knowledge in reading and understanding architectural drawings and correctly interprets the information included in the written specifications; demonstrates the ability to lay out the job and informs the supervisor of its progress; constructs, remodels or repairs partitions, doors, windows, floors, ceilings, walls, etc., demonstrates ability to select materials so grain and other patterns will match with each other; follows manufacturer's recommendation or construction trade guidelines applicable to assigned tasks; performs hand and bench work in carpenter shop; removes and replaces items in room necessary for construction; assures construction projects are appropriately coordinated with all impacted individuals; demonstrates ability to perform concrete work; maintains work areas and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly manner; informs Supervisor of materials and time needed to complete assigned projects/tasks; informs Supervisor when starting and completed work tasks; informs owning departments on tasks to be accomplished and completion status; informs Supervisor on status of equipment and makes recommendations on replacement of equipment and ensures all materials, expenditures and labor hours are documented on applicable forms as required.

Required:

• Minimum of four (4) years of construction experience.

• Successful completion of functional assessment.

Preferred:

• Health care construction experience.

• ASHE construction certification.
