Job Description

Responsibilities:

Accurate loading, moving and unloading of product by operating a forklift to lift and transport product to and from various warehouses and warehouse locations. Maintaining the organized and productive condition of the warehouse(s).
  • Restocking - transfer finished product from the palletized, overstock area to their designated fulfillment/bin locations in the warehouse.
  • Move product from one location to another as needed. Load and unload trucks and containers.
  • Daily operation, maintenance & inspection of the forklift. Notify management when maintenance or repairs are required on any of the warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain material-handling standards set by the manager.
  • Maintain safe driving record with forklift and other equipment by watching for others and maintaining safe speed while meeting production goals and respecting all safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe & organized work area and assist in general maintenance (including in the office).
  • Unload and stock boxes and other warehouse supplies. Request box and supply orders.
  • Consolidate pallets and hand stack shelves to maximize the use of warehouse space. Find creative solutions that maximize space while maintaining a productive, organized warehouse.
  • Maintain knowledge of the location of all products in the warehouse. Assist co-workers in finding product.
  • Assist in receiving and stocking of inventory on shelves. Backup receiving associate when needed.
  • Shortages - Monitor shortage shelves and pull product from overstock. Alert inventory manager on short orders and inventory discrepancies.
  • Backup shipping, order picking and kitting when needed.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors related to areas where we can improve the overall efficiency of the Fulfillment Center.
This position is also the Fulfillment Center's "floater" and is expected to help out in all areas as needed. The Material Handling Specialist needs to be self-directed and take the initiative to see what is needed on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or general education degree.
  • Minimum one year of forklift driving experience.
  • Experience utilizing warehouse management and/or shipping software.

Skills/Competencies
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent, positive attitude.
  • Ability to analyze issues and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to bend, lift & stand for at least 8 hours of a day.
  • Ability to obtain forklift & WAV certification.
