Senior Process Development Engineer - Molding
Participate in cross-functional project teams to implement creative solutions. Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and R&D to integrate new products or processes. Responsible for identifying and correcting manufacturing process nonconformance's identified during prototype builds.
Responsibilities for the development of new products, with a focus on plastics injection molding of Neuro stimulation leads and their accessories, include:
* Adheres to Integer's Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
* Coordinates the mold design, development, procurement and sampling of new leads or lead related products.
* Drafts and releases molding process documentation for the development and production release of new products.
* Performs molding sampling, characterization and validation activities as required for new programs.
* Investigates, develops and implements new and unique molding approaches to solve complex problems and advance technology beyond previous company involvement.
* Represents molding expertise on multiple project teams.
* Collaboratively interacts with multiple areas of the business on new product development programs.
* Provides management with technical guidance as required.
* Identifies and procures the appropriate process equipment, if needed.
* Maintains liaison with individuals and business units within or outside his/her organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to plastics molding.
* Subject matter expert in plastics molding with an emphasis on polyurethanes.
* Performs other duties as required.
Education & Experience:
* Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree strongly preferred.
* Minimum Experience: 7+ years of experience in plastics molding
* Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead team activities. Strong ability to coach. Advanced problem solving skills. Strong communication, presentation, follow-through, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively work with coworkers and all levels of the organization.
* Specialized Knowledge: Computer skills as required by stated accountabilities. Advanced word-processing and spreadsheet skills. Complex problem solving skills.
* Optional experience: Medical device development, rubber molding and implant grade polyurethane.
