What you will do:
The Mechanical Engineer (ME) applies the knowledge of engineering principles to design curtainwall systems and components. The ME develops and refines processes within all departments, including d esign and engineering, m anufacturing, and field installation. The ME provides building physics support (thermal, acoustic, etc.) through specification review and analysis. The ME uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals per schedule and budget objectives. The ME may lead and direct the work of others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop curtainwall systems and components, making appropriate decisions based on project specifications and budgets
  • Develop and refine processes for design and engineering, manufacturing, and installation departments
  • Generate project submittal drawings for review by the external design team (Architect/Consultant/GC)
  • Develop 3D parametric models for the generation of production information and 3D wireframe models
  • Follow and support process improvement in best practice drafting and modeling standards
  • Review, interpret and apply project specifications to materials and designs
  • Read and interpret project Architectural and Structural drawings
  • May supervise, mentor, and train other resources
  • Provide support and coordination to the operations team, factory, and field personnel as needed
  • Use education and company provided training to develop the required skills further
  • Additional items as needed by design and engineering departments
Qualifications:
Key Roles and Skill Sets
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor/SolidWorks, preferred
  • Strong general computer skills including working knowledge of email, MS Office, and similar software
  • Strong spatial aptitude
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Under direction, independently performs technical work and project tasks
Education and Experience
  • 2 - 4 yrs. experience, curtainwall/fa??ade experience, preferred
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
