Supply Chain Management aligns with business leaders across the enterprise to deliver the 'right' supply solutions, reduce expense, and manage third party risk. Our global team specializes in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, procure-to-pay, supplier diversity, and third party risk management. We also connect with our communities through supplier diversity outreach and by embedding socially responsible strategies into our sourcing processes.

Strategic Sourcing is an organization of Strategic Sourcing Professionals that work with and throughout the Enterprise to execute enterprise sourcing strategies, negotiate third party service provider (TPSP) contracts, mitigate TPSP contractual risks, reduce TPSP expenses, and provide TPSP market insight to ensure best in class sourcing practices.

The Position:
The Construction Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Strategic Sourcing professionals to align & execute enterprise sourcing strategies and supplier capabilities for commodities and spend categories to achieve enterprise-wide business objectives. This position will support the Wells Fargo Corporate Properties Group (CPG).

  • Develops a strong working relationship various LOB customers, suppliers and internal departments and obtains a thorough functional knowledge of the organization, performance measures and information flows to help optimize engineering/construction business objectives.
  • Collaborates with Group Executives within CPG and the Enterprise to create and align business priorities and establish strategic business objectives.
  • Directly involved in the engineering and construction contract negotiations/relationship management of high complexity, high risk contracts with significant (potential) business strategy impacts.

The ideal candidate will maintain and foster Wells Fargo's focus to create a sustainable and strategic partnership with CPG, support outsourcing efforts, and align processes with the greater strategic sourcing organization. The area of responsibility has spend categories and large line of business deals exceeding $3B in annual expenditures.

Additionally, this role will:

  • Manage a team of category experts that has responsibility for enterprise-wide supplier initiatives and line of business specific negotiations in support of CPG enterprise goals.
  • Develops and manages supply chain/strategic sourcing and enterprise procure-to-pay strategies and solutions to deliver and sustain substantial enterprise expense reductions, efficient procurement processes and actionable data and reporting.
  • Develops annual cost savings programs and is accountable for developing and implementing business strategies that directly affect company financial results.
  • Collaborates with senior executives to align business priorities and establish strategic business objectives.
  • Directly involved in contract negotiations/relationship management of high complexity, high risk contracts with significant (potential) business strategy impacts.
  • Supports acquisition-related activities including high risk contract and negotiation reassignments, due diligence, contracts dispositions and strategic sourcing issue resolution.
  • Evaluates, negotiates and manages the most complex or strategically important supplier and vendor relationships to ensure all align with enterprise objectives.
  • Develops and directs processes, strategy and/or enterprise program recommendations.
  • Lead acquisition-related activities including high risk contract and negotiation reassignments, due diligence, contracts dispositions, and strategic sourcing issue resolution with the primary focus on construction and engineering engagements.
  • Accountable for governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
  • Proactively maintain current understanding of various industry and supply chain management best practices in the construction and engineering sector, and their commodity/spend category benchmarks.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in direct sourcing, contract management, or a combination of both
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • 4+ years of experience sourcing large complex architectural, engineering, and construction projects

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of sourcing methodology

  • Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Proven experience collaborating with Supply Chain leaders in industry with a focus on Construction and Engineering.
  • Proven ability to partner with key senior leaders in order to drive change and accountability across an organization
  • High degree of initiative and strong ability to meet key responsibilities with limited direction and oversight
  • Matrix management skills with experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
