InfoTech Resources is looking for a Sr. Project Manager for a six-month contract position with a client in the tax and financial services industry. The position is available to candidates in the Minneapolis, Chicago, or Davenport, IA metro areas, as the client has major IT offices in each location. The Sr. PM will manage plans, scope, personnel, risk, cost and budgets, and delivery of three projects within two portfolios. As an IT leader, he/she will leverage project management principles in delivering IT projects to support the client's HR and international business groups. It will be critical that the PM build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, so professional communication skills are imperative. Candidates should have prior experience in iterative Waterfall SDLC projects as well as Agile Scrum. The client strongly prefers candidates with a PMP and/or Agile certifications as well.


Essential Duties

  • Facilitate definition of project scope, and manage to objectives, budget, schedule, resources, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Create and execute project plans. Revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements while following BP&T SDLC methodology
  • Ensure project documents are complete, up-to-date, and stored appropriately
  • Works with Program Managers or Project Manager on Cost Benefit Analysis and completion of approval processes according to governance standards and advisory oversight at required phase gates of project
  • Communicate project status and updates
  • Mentor project managers and junior project team members
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Project Management and Technical Experience

  • 5-8 years relevant experience.
  • PMP Certification
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and their associated tasks
  • Experience managing multiple projects of low to moderate risk
  • Ability to supervise, direct, and review the results of projects or assignments
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • General knowledge of business and IT systems
  • Experience with MS Project, Workbench or related tool
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to attract, lead, motivate, and retain a team
  • Strong attention to detail, effective organization, and time management skills
