As a member of the Engineering team, the Power Electrical Engineer is responsible for helping EVS support our medium and high voltage Electrical Engineering group.


What you'll do:

  • Design, specifications, plans, maps, project schedule and budgets
  • Review work for quality assurance and quality control to ensure compliance with EVS quality standards
  • Responsible for contracts, scope of services, and budgets
  • Participate in and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and clients
  • Responding to RFPs
  • Prepare and manage forecast of workload and monitor backlog
  • Market to existing or potential clients to obtain work
  • Participate in public involvement which may include reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material
  • Assist the Electrical team in creating full set Medium Voltage Electrical drawings and studies for Utility and Distributed scale solar projects
  • Create electrical collection system and substation one-line diagrams
  • Create electrical Medium voltage conductor sizing and design
  • Determine wire spacing in trenches using software like AmpCalc or CYMCAP
  • Review shop drawings, and respond to request for information (RFIs) and assist with general construction support services


You Have:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience working as an Electrical Engineer for an engineering firm or EPC
  • Power systems or utility-related experience
  • PE in Electrical Engineering
  • Some experience with AutoCAD, manual drafting, and electrical line drawing
  • Understanding of engineering and renewable energy systems
  • A good understanding of NEC 2017 and IEEE and ability to keep with emerging technologies
  • Knowledge of PV system components such as modules, racking, inverters, transformers and BOS
  • Knowledge of SKM Ground Mat, CDEGS or equivalent software to run Grounding studies
  • Knowledge of Coordination, Short Circuit and Arc Flash studies in E-tap or SKM
  • Understanding of protection and controls
  • Project experience in medium and high Voltage AC
  • Background in software such as CYMCAP or AmpCalc, SKM or E-Tap.


Nice to Have:

  • Substation physical design experience
