International Admission CounselorCarroll UniversityClassification: Administrative Staff- Full Time - 2080 Annual Hours Report To:Director of Traditional and International AdmissionDescription: The International Admission Counselor is responsible for assisting with the development and/or implementation of recruitment activities and strategies to enroll international undergraduate, graduate and non-degree students at Carroll University. This position requires a high energy, creative thinker who is determined to see that the university's international enrollment goals are met successfully. Responsibilities:International Enrollment ManagementoDevelop new and enhance existing processes and systems to improve international enrollment operations and workflow.oEstablish and maintain an active communication flow with prospective students, counselors, parents, agents and organizations.oCollect, analyze, and report international enrollment data and research to inform international recruitment recommendations and practices.oRepresent the university at select domestic and international recruitment activities.oCollaborate with university's Marketing and Communication Department. to develop effective international marketing materials including print, web, video and social media.oBuild and maintain strong relationships with various administrative and academic departments to support the enrollment of international students - particularly with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). International Admission AdvisingoPlan, implement, monitor and coordinate the workflow for all international admission processes.oCounsel prospective international students through the application process and facilitate questions related to the university's academic, social, cultural, financial, and athletic environments.oReview application credentials from international applicants, make admission decisions and recommendations and award merit based scholarships.oResponsible for initial I-20 issuance for all incoming international students. oUtilize an understanding of U.S. immigration laws and regulations to evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action when there is a change in student status of international students.oAssist with the coordination of arrival and orientation details and activities for new international students.oAssist in the coordination of special summer and short-term programs which contribute to increased international enrollments.International Education Support and AdministrationoDevelop, coordinate, implement and evaluate campus international programming efforts, in conjunction with DEI professional and student staff.oCoordination of student worker schedules and tasks.oAid in compiling and maintaining data for reporting purposes.oProvide support for office functions including but not limited to meetings, office events and campus visitors.oParticipate in local, regional and national dialogue on international education.Education and/or ExperienceoBachelor's degree requiredoMinimum of 2 years in university international admission and/or international education preferred.oExperience serving as a DSO in a higher education setting preferred.oInternational study, work, or living experience.oProficiency in a language in addition to English preferred.Human Relations SkillsoStrong problem-solving and research skills.oSuccessful experience planning and organizing multiple projects simultaneously.oExcellent written, oral and cross-cultural communication skills.oAbility to work independently and as part of a team.OtheroWillingness to travel both domestically and abroad.oFlexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.oMust have valid driver's license, be willing to drive a 12-passenger van, and be insurable under the University's plan.oMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident as mandated by federal regulations pertaining to Designated School Officials under Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) rules.
