The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices as well as online and digital channels.

National Underwriting and Production Risk Management (NUPRM) provides support for transaction underwriting, managing production risk, and implementation of policies and procedures that support the home lending process. As part of Wells Fargo Home Lending, NUPRM identifies and adopts best practices and controls in relation to retail mortgage products.

Wells Fargo is looking to hire a Lending Manager 3 for our National Credit Solutions-Portfolio Alliance Credit Office Team within who has a strong desire and passion to deliver an exceptional experience in helping customers with their home loan applications. The Alliance Credit Office works with Wealth and Investment Management partners to underwrite and fulfill Non-Agency mortgage loans for high net worth customers in and outside of the bank that are directed to the Wells Fargo portfolio.

The Lending Manager 3 is responsible for managing the Portfolio Alliance Credit Office (ACO) team primarily located in Minneapolis, MN who make lending decisions on non-conforming mortgage applications for Wealth Management customers. Majority of applications handled by team are originated by Centralized and Distributed Sales in the Central Division. This role includes working closely with Wealth and Investment Management, Non-Conforming Fulfillment Partners and Sales Partners. The position is also responsible for ensuring groups underwriting and customer service levels are met, monitoring credit quality, approving loans within established loan approval limits, ensuring compliance with all appropriate Bank policies and regulations; working with business unit managers to understand servicing needs and make or recommend adjustments to provide improved turnaround times and customer service.

This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z (LO) outlined in the job expectations below.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of lending experience
  • 3+ years of management experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of consumer loan underwriting or credit in mortgage lending
  • Strong relationship development skills
  • Leadership skills including; coaching, training, and mentoring

Job Expectations

  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site ( ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary.
  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results.
