Territory Manager: Minnesota

Owen Industries, one of the Midwest's largest Steel Service Centers, is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with proven communication and sales skills. Must have a good track record of sale achievements and a willingness to go out into the market and build new business. Duties include obtaining and developing new business while maintaining our existing customer relationships. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for gaining in-depth knowledge of our internal operations and services along with our customer's operations and products. The candidate must be technically rounded with the ability to bring value to our customers by solving their problems. You must possess in-depth market and product knowledge not limited to processed carbon, coated and stainless flat-rolled sheet, coil and plate steel and aluminum products.


Summary/Objectives

Management, development and maintenance of territory sales for Service Center, Tool Steel and Mfg. Products.

Essential Functions

?? Proactive involvement in the strategic planning and sales forecasting for assigned territory or accounts.

?? Work in close co-operation with management, shop, and office personnel to assist in production scheduling and delivery of finished product.

?? Development of and maintenance of all accounts in the assigned territory.

?? Proactive involvement in maintaining customer specific programs.

?? Ability to process any and all sale quotations, sale orders, and non-conformance issues.

?? Provide pricing and product availability to all customers.

?? Assist with the servicing of existing accounts, the management of customer programs.

?? Follow up on outstanding quotations.

?? Maintain a high level of market awareness and pricing.

?? Attend and contribute to training programs/sales seminars and sale meeting.

?? Support of Quality Policy and our Quality Systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times, however, the office area is quiet. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
