We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As the Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks & equipment utilizing all available resources while meeting and/or exceeding established goals. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles/equipment and includes a service truck. Year-round position with a well-established company based in Virginia, MN. Union benefits, competitive wage, paid holidays & vacation.
Responsibilities Include:
* Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair transmissions, hydraulic components, engines, electrical systems, brake systems, drive lines, etc. on a variety of trucks and heavy equipment.
* Operate and maintain service truck.
* Service equipment - change oil and fluids, grease trucks.
* Monitor and make recommendations to maintain and improve efficiencies.
* Report any machine or process problems to Manager.
* Costing and documentation of maintenance/repairs.
* Perform various other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace environment with tight deadlines.
* CDL License
* Be able to perform multiple tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Professionalism, initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
* DOT Inspection Certification is a plus.
