Or a combination of education and related experience to total eight 8 years. Related experience noted above should include: Minimum of 3 years of experience managing health, human service, or nutrition-related educational program. Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching, community organizing, community health promotion, or community education. Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising, including hiring, training, managing performance, coaching, and team building. Proficiency in English and Spanish, verbal and written. Demonstrated experience in implementing public health approaches to promote policy, system, and environmental changes related to health and/or nutrition programming. Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, problem-solving, and successfully completing multiple tasks under pressure of a deadline. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Demonstrated experience working together with communities of color, immigrant communities, those living with limited income, and/OR historically marginalized populations experiencing health inequities. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to decreasing health disparities. Respectful and professional communication style, with good written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills including a high level of comfort creating documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; competent keyboarding/data entry skills; experience doing internet searches; experience using email; and the ability to lead as well as actively participate in web-based communication and training. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with required liability insurance, to be utilized for frequent travel within Minnesota. A personal cell phone that can be used, as needed, for work purposes. About the Job Title: SNAP-Ed Regional Coordinator Classification: Extension Program Associate 3, Job Code 7316A3 Program Area: Extension Center for Family Development Office Location: Regional Extension Office in either Mankato or Marshall Minimum Salary: $20.86/hour ($43,388/annual) or more depending on qualifications Application Deadline: April 11, 2021 initial review deadline The Extension Center for Family Development is in need of a SNAP-Ed Regional Coordinator. SNAP-Ed Regional Coordinators are charged with the implementation and management of the SNAP-Ed program in a defined multi-county region of the state. This particular SNAP-Ed Regional Coordinator is in charge of the Southwest region and a portion of the Southeast region. The person in this position will lead a team of six to ten SNAP-Ed Educators, who are responsible for fulfilling the commitment to the grant by promoting and improving individual and community health by promoting healthy eating behaviors and physical activity in low-income communities. One significant effort within the Health and Nutrition program area is the administration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) grant. Using grant dollars, educators work throughout the state to make the healthy choice the easy choice for Minnesotans with limited financial resources. The SNAP-Ed Regional Coordinator will hire, train, supervise, and support the SNAP-Ed Educators in their work as they build relationships with the community; conduct community needs assessment; analyze findings; design program to fit audience; determine and implement program delivery process; and deliver, evaluate, and revise programs across a variety of community settings. In addition to overseeing the individual educators, the person in this position is responsible for ensuring that the SNAP-Ed program is delivered in an effective and efficient manner across his/her region and that the full spectrum of prevention strategies, including public health approaches, is utilized. [Public health approaches promote policy, system, and environmental changes that improve access to healthy food and physical activity opportunities in order that individual behavioral change is possible.] This position is a full-time position and will report to the SNAP-Ed Associate Program Director. While this position will travel frequently across the counties within the region, it will be based out of the Mankato or Marshall Regional Extension Offices. RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision of Program Staff (40%) Hire and develop the talent needed to support critical program goals and priorities. Supervise the day-to-day work of multiple SNAP-Ed Educators located in the region, adjusting the team's work as needed to maximize efficiencies and impacts. Conduct ongoing performance management of SNAP-Ed Educators through record and report monitoring, teaching observations, monthly one-on-one meetings, and monthly all-staff meetings. Observe, monitor, direct, and coach to ensure that SNAP-Ed Educators meet performance expectations to: Deliver engaging, effective, and adaptive quality programs to the target audience. Collect and secure participant-level paperwork regarding demographic info, eligibility, attendance, assessment, and program evaluation. Record participant data and course outcomes in the database. Follow budgetary guidelines and procedures regarding travel, programming supplies, and other financial considerations. Prepare and support SNAP-Ed Educators in delivering approved educational programs following the SNAP-Ed guidelines, to ensure program fidelity and success. Provide SNAP-Ed Educators with the resources, information, authority, and support needed for program delivery. Provide SNAP-Ed Educators with clear performance expectations with timely, actionable, and constructive feedback and coaching. Working with the SNAP-Ed Associate Program Director, develop and implement training for SNAP-Ed Educators on content, approved curricula and programs, effective teaching and delivery methods, program reporting and evaluation methods, and other procedures and protocols. Ensure SNAP-Ed Educators demonstrate a strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and honesty including consistently following through on commitments and taking ownership for the performance of the team. Program Management (40%) Oversee the implementation and evaluation of all SNAP-Ed programming in a multi-county region within Minnesota. Manage and monitor the budget and data collection for projects and programs. Analyze programmatic data and financial information to determine ways to better focus resources for effectively and efficiently reaching low income Minnesotans, and people with health disparities in the region. Identify potential opportunities for program development and improved programmatic impact by exploring gaps in the prevention spectrum of health and nutrition-related community programs and initiatives and feeding leads to SNAP-Ed Educators. Collaborate with other Extension personnel regionally and statewide to enhance program delivery through coordination and sharing of programmatic activities, success stories, resources, formative research, and program evaluation information. Oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of partner level agreements in the region. Provide guidance to community-based organizations on the technical aspects of the federal SNAP Education program. Train and manage the established reporting protocols and evaluation plans that are implemented by SNAP-Ed educators. Working with SNAP-Ed Educators, manage the implementation of a regional program plans for continuous improvement of the quality of health and nutrition programming within the region. Lead statewide projects that benefit SNAP-Ed. Demonstrate a self-awareness of one's strengths and development needs. Take action to better understand community health and nutrition issues, public health approaches, and new research and strategies in order to guide SNAP-Ed Educators in translating this knowledge into programmatic efforts. Community Engagement (20%) Maintain positive internal and external communications by seeking, analyzing, and synthesizing feedback from SNAP-Ed Educators on participant and community concerns, program implementation, curricula, and other resources to improve the quality and efficiency in the program and better meet the needs of SNAP-Ed participants.
