If you are an experienced diesel truck mechanic and you are looking for a long-term career with an established company, join the Point Ready Mix Team! We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to service and maintain our fleet of ready - mix trucks. This will involve performing both minor and major repairs along with maintaining and servicing our manufacturing plants. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a lifetime career with us! Our shops are equipped with overhead cranes, forklifts and all necessary equipment along with late model service trucks. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will provide a full range of maintenance and repair services on heavy-duty diesel trucks, light duty vehicles and other company owned equipment in order to keep our vehicles operating efficiently and safely.

Your specific duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Diagnose and make repairs to fleet vehicles, including repairing engines, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition, exhaust systems (including regeneration systems), HVAC systems, brakes, drive lines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems
  • Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports in a timely manner
  • Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
  • Scheduling maintenance service and ordering parts
  • Filling out and submitting all required documents in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responding to road emergencies to repair vehicles as necessary
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on production facility equipment as needed
  • Bumper to Bumper preventative maintenance
  • Welding and cutting
  • Monitor parts inventory and restock as needed

Job Requirements:

You must be self-motivated and able to effectively maintain the vehicle fleet without supervision. You must also have a sense of ownership of your work and take initiative in providing preventative maintenance. You must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and display a positive attitude.

  • Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers
  • Must provide own tools (diagnostic and major tools provided by Point Ready Mix, LLC)
  • Moderate Knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • High school diploma OR GED; Technical school degree is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with heavy duty diesel trucks
  • Class A or B CDL or can obtain a Class A or B CDL
  • Maintain a safe and organized shop
  • Willing to work Saturdays
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to push/pull 75 pounds
  • Ability to lift/carry 75 pounds
