This will also include equipment that is servo-mechanical as well as electro-mechanically operated. All work needs to be done in a clean sanitary manor as required in a food manufacturing plant. Candidates must be available to work weekends.We are offering a $1,000* Hiring Bonus to candidates for hourly positions who apply by April 1, 2021 through May 31, 2021 and who are hired by June 30, 2021. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $500 will be paid out in following paycheck 90 days after hire; an additional $500 will be paid out in following paycheck 180 days after hire. Temporary, part-time and certain rehired employees are not eligible.Pay: $28.60/hour or more + $1.50/hour 2nd shift differential, dependent upon skills and experience. Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.Hours: 1:00PM-9:15PMEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis includes the following, and other duties may be assigned:1. Repair or maintain the operating condition of the equipment used in production and packaging of a dairy product2. Align, fit, or assemble component parts and hardware, using hand or power tools3. Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices4. Preform preventive maintenance functions such as cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, or replacing parts as needed per scheduled maintenance5. Operate newly repaired equipment to verify adequacy or repairs6. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly7. Test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters8. Operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment used in various areas of operation9. Ability to effectively communicate with operators, fellow maintenance staff, and supervision to perform required tasks10. Record parts or materials used and ordered or requisition new parts or materials as necessary using Inventory management softwareRequirementsEducation??? High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)??? Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Associate's Degree, Certificate or Apprenticeship, and/or equivalent experienceExperience??? Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant is a plus, dairy environment even better, yet not a requirement for employment consideration??? Stable and dependable work history is requiredSpecialized Knowledge??? Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology??? Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance??? Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programmingSkills/Abilities??? Troubleshooting, critical thinking, and complex problem solving is a priority??? Ability to perform routine maintenance on production and packaging equipment??? English Language- ability to effectively communicate verbally and writtenThe ideal candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus ), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds with assistance, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing) and must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required).
