The University of Jamestown, Jamestown, N.D., is seeking an experienced professional to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO position reports to the Executive Vice President and VP of Business Affairs and is responsible for implementing policies and procedures that strengthen the overall fiscal operations of the University. The position will attend cabinet meetings from time to time as needed and serves as the financial advisor to the President. He or she will regularly provide financial reports to the President and Board of Trustees and will be involved in institutional policy development.

Areas of responsibility include financial services, audit and compliance, cash flow management, capital improvement planning, annual planning and budget development, human resources, the bookstore, service department and long-range financial planning that supports the development and successful implementation of the University's Strategic Plan.

The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in business administration, accounting or related field from an accredited college or university; a minimum of seven years of demonstrated, successful, progressively responsible experience. Although not required, preference will be given to candidates with higher education experience. Knowledge of computer applications, online technologies and an interest in working in a faith-based institution committed to balancing the ideals of a liberal arts education with sound professional programs a strong plus.

Special skills and abilities expected of the Chief Financial Officer include: strong management, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills; an excellent record of leadership in planning, assessment, finance, and project management; demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of strategic financial plans; strong working knowledge of financial and information technologies; effective written and oral communication skills; strong team leadership with demonstrated willingness and ability to work openly and collaboratively with internal and external constituencies; ability to build a culture of hospitality and customer service throughout the University.
