The position creates and distributes communications that increase understanding of strategy and inform the workforce about new programs, products and processes. The role provides communications support and guidance to leaders, employees and others across the organization to ensure the delivery of relevant, timely messages to multiple internal audiences. Key focus areas for this role are Thrivent's Growth Division, which includes brand and marketing, client experience/innovation and generosity. Additionally, this role will provide general project support to the entire enterprise communications team and occasionally support external communications activities related to issues management and reputation.Job DescriptionJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops communications plans, including detailed time and action plans, supporting strategic priorities and "run-the-business" initiatives.Concepts, writes and edits articles, messages and other planned communications for multiple internal audiences.Provides communications channel management support as needed.Acquires and applies a deep level of understanding of the interests and motivators of the target audiences; positions communications to meet the content and information needs of receivers.Effectively creates communications for distribution through multiple communications channels.Works independently with key business partners and at the direction of communications leaders.Tracks team and individual performance measures and reports performance.Required Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in journalism, marketing or related field requiredFive years' experience (minimum) in business/corporate communicationsStrong writing, editing and communication planning skillsStrong project management and organizational skillsExcellent human relations skills, tact, judgment, good listening and consulting skillsKnowledge of the financial services industry preferredPrior financial writing experience preferredOther Critical Factors Strong planning and implementation skillsStrong communication skills, ability to present ideas well both in writing and verballyStrong writing and editing skillsAbility to work collaboratively with other communicators and business partnersThrivent provides Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) without regard to race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, age, disability, marital status, citizenship status, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable local, state, or federal law.
