The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Compliance, Legal, Audit & Regulatory Technology (CLAR) provides technology support and development for Legal & Data Controls, Compliance Risk & Audit, Financial Crimes, Front Office and Second Line Risk, Employee Compliance, Regulator Regulations, Market Surveillance, and Regulator Change Management.

CLAR Technology has embarked on an ambitious Risk Transformation program and as part of that we are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be part of a development team that is responsible for developing and supporting a new strategic global case management platform for FCRM Investigations that manages user business processes, reporting and regulatory reporting in the Financial Crimes area of Compliance.

We are looking for a Financial Crimes Investigations Engineering Manager with experience in design, development of enterprise systems, handling high volumes of data in the area of case management and reporting. The candidate would lead the design, implementation, production support and monitoring of a new third party solution to replace an existing platform on its last level of support. This new solution will overlap with an expanded new operation model which will allow the compliance area to transition towards a more modernized application stack with a focus on Repeatable Process Automation and efficiency. Additionally, this role will also help in supporting the current suite of applications and support existing team members through proper career paths.

This is a unique opportunity to make a huge impact in Financial Crimes area and requires a candidate with thought leadership and technical strength.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  • Develop engineering best practices, guidelines, standards and accelerators.
  • Develop and manage EFT application integration and API enablement platform.
  • Develop shared engineering services to incubate innovative architecture and design patterns and evaluate emerging technologies
  • Bring innovative transformational design ideas to develop a strong cloud migration strategy and roadmap.
  • Provide engineering thought leadership and apply innovative design patterns for effective and efficient technology management.
  • Develop and manage EFT engineering community of practice.
  • Incubate Shared EFT capabilities.
  • Bring strong technical skills and ability to lead the discussion with technology and functional teams.
  • Document and present design to Sr. leaders.
  • Must work across the organization at senior levels to establish, maintain and govern all aspect of EFT cloud migration Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-section of enterprise resources in improving our efficiency and effectiveness to deliver Wells Fargo products to market faster.
  • Lead effectively in a matrixed organization, developing partnerships with many functional areas, and having a strong execution and delivery, Relationship management and influencing skills.
  • Develop strategies to improve developer productivity and reduce technology debt.
  • Develop strategy to design and engineer resilient, scalable cloud native applications.
  • Assess key EFT platforms for resiliency and guide teams on designing for resiliency.
  • Design and incubate new systems using micro services, API gateway and Integration platform.
  • Develop EFT engineering best practices and frameworks.
  • Evaluate and incubate modern technologies and engineering practices.
  • Develop EFT resiliency design and engineering practices.
  • Design and develop APIs
  • Provide leadership to the team for project planning, requirement analysis, implementation and co-ordinate testing activity.
  • Work closely with our business partners to analyze and resolve all issues and inquiries.
  • Provide consistently high level of client service to our partners
  • Manage development staff consisting of technology managers, and team leaders including both onshore and offshore resources consisting of full-time developers, contractors and consultants.
  • Should be very knowledgeable developing web based applications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 4+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
  • 12+ years of technical engineering experience
  • 8 + years of technology management experience
  • 5 + years of cloud computing experience
  • 5+ years of strategic planning and development experience
  • 3+ years of public cloud experience

  • 8+ years of planning experience
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 6+ years of leadership or management experience, in a technology environment
  • 6+ years of experience managing software development projects
  • Financial Crimes experience
  • Wells Fargo Technology Management experience
