Eventide Fargo Care Center is currently seeking a Resident Care Manager, RN to oversee the day to day operations of the Transitional Care Unit and a Long Term Care Unit.

The Resident Care Manager will manage and supervise the administrative and operational functions of the unit in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility and ensures that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times to all residents.

Ideal Candidate
  • Must have an active ND RN license or be able to obtain upon hire
  • Long Term Care and/or Senior Living experience preferred
  • Previous Manager or Supervisor experience preferred but not required

Essential Functions:
  • Performs assessments of current residents at critical points of change including changes of condition or changes of services.
  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates continuous functioning of the unit as well as the quality of resident care on the unit while applying best practices.
  • Maintains awareness of changes in state and federal regulation to assist in implementing changes needed.
  • Serves as the primary contact person to meet and appropriately handle resident and/or family concerns.
  • Assists in coordinating and participating in resident care conferences to provide education to residents and families as needed.
  • Works outside of regularly-scheduled shifts on occasion to maintain connection with staff on all shifts and to maintain awareness of concerns and needs not identified on day shifts.
  • Monitors and supervises all staff in maintaining accurate documentation on residents according to established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Is a mandated reporter and aware of the Elder Justice Act; reports Vulnerable Adult incidents in a timely manner according to regulation; performs investigations to determine cause and action needed for improvement.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement projects and monitors change.
  • Provides input and monitoring of appropriate Medicare, MSHO (if applicable), and insurance usage by residents.
  • Continually evaluates appropriateness of resident placement on the unit.

Staff Development
  • Actively participates in the orientation of new employees.
  • Monitors and supervises all resident care staff and care given on the unit according to established policies, procedures and standards.
  • Responsible for job performance appraisals of resident care staff. Any disciplinary actions for resident care staff are to be performed in consultation with the Director of Nursing. All terminations will be reviewed by the Director of Nursing, Executive Director, and Human Resources Director.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and education to resident care staff.
  • Assists staff in preparing for state and federal inspections.
  • Evaluates staffing needs and maintains adequate staffing.
  • Assists in interviewing and selection process for new employees for the unit, as needed.
  • Assesses educational needs of the unit, provides input, and assists in the determination of competency.
  • Coordinates and conducts educational and informational staff meetings on a regular basis, including assistance with orientation of new employees.
  • Monitors and supervises all staff to maintain necessary records for Medicare and/or Medicaid reimbursement.

    Additional Duties
    • Actively advocates for residents and nursing staff and has the ability to gain cooperation from others to impact change.
    • Continually updates nursing skills, management skills and knowledge by attending in services, continuing education programs, and staff meetings.
    • Must be able to assume all responsibilities of Charge Nurse/Registered Nurse whenever necessary.
    • Will rotate weekend and weekly on call responsibilities and provide leadership to direct care staff.

      Certificates, Licenses Or Registrations:
      • Must have a ND RN License or be able to obtain upon hire.
      • Must currently be in good standing in all states in which you have ever been license as a nurse in the U.S.
      • Current Certificate in CPR/BLS is required.

      Supervisory Responsibility:
      • Directly supervises RNs, LPNs, CMAs, CNAs, and Unit Secretaries.
