  • Abbott's Structural Heart Division has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager. You will be responsible for the cross-functional management and technical leadership of new product development programs within the Structural Heart business. Additionally, you will be coordinating and providing guidance for the design and development of products, working closely with senior leadership to establish product development goals, while ensuring market compatibility.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Formulates and implements research and development programs, policies, and procedures required to support profitable growth.
  • Provides leadership to design/development teams to achieve key business objectives.
  • Provides design/development teams with appropriate resources to perform assigned tasks.
  • Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources to ensure intellectual property is appropriately protected.
  • Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources (regulatory, customers, etc.) to ensure development programs meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Obtains capital resources to meet company goals and develops departmental budget estimates.
  • Contributes to business unit and divisional strategy planning
  • Participates in review boards for intellectual property, CAPA, complaints, business unit planning, and others as necessary.
  • Tracks and forecasts divisional and product and technology projects
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering, or Material Science, Biochemistry, or related field
  • 5+ years of end-to-end project management experience
  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members to ensure proper plan alignment and deliver high quality projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and/or presenting to project teams and senior leadership
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization
  • Ability to initiate, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in a technical or business field
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Project
  • PMP certification
