Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

Position Purpose: To perform assigned service and warranty tasks in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

Major Tasks/Responsibilities: The items listed below are primary duties only. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Complete all assigned orientation tasks.
Complete basic dealer and manufacturer training on specified systems.
Practice preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and repair techniques to build proficiency for assignments.
Diagnose problems, replace parts, and repair equipment on field assignments.
Exchange parts in warranty and return them to the service department.
Handle assigned field calls according to the priority set by the office.
Manage time for efficient travel to and completion of field assignments.
Submit accurate and legible call reports and expense reports on a timely basis.
Use good judgment when replacing parts (not too soon or too late).
Fill in service tickets legibly with all available information.
Maintain tools and test equipment in service-ready condition.
Maintain adequate service truck inventory.
Cooperate with the office and keep them informed of activity and whereabouts.
Attend company meetings.
Display a professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
Follow all procedures mandated by management.
Communicate problems to management.

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Service Manager

Entry Qualifications: Must be able to work without close supervision, have good verbal and written communication skills, have tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.

Job Title: HVAC Installer

Position Purpose: To ensure proper installation of equipment.

Major Tasks/Responsibilities: The items listed below are primary duties only. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Gather all proper materials before leaving the shop.

Install wiring, refrigerant piping, gas piping, and condensation piping according to standard installation practices and the management's instruction.

Make final wiring and pipe connections according to local codes.

Ensure equipment installed does not interfere with the building structures or other preexisting work.

After installation, check equipment startup and operation.

Leave all equipment manuals at the job site.

Supervise and assign job duties to a helper/coworker as appropriate.

Monitor the work performed by the helper/coworker and assist them in learning proper installation techniques and use/care of tools.

Take responsibility for company tools at the job site and return them to the shop when finished.

Report damaged or lost tools to management.

Notify management of problems or accidents encountered on the job immediately.

Take precautions during all phases of job performance to avoid accidents.

Fill in material requisitions and submit them daily.

Fill time cards accurately and daily.

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the President. Supervises a helper/coworker at the job site.

Entry Qualifications: Have knowledge of construction techniques. Some experience supervising others. Be able to make decisions regarding minor problems at job sites and display leadership qualities in working with a helper/coworker. Show tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
