North American Sales Manager- Agricultural Products

At Snaptite Hose, our employees are the innovative catalysts for success in the high-quality design, manufacture and sale of the industry-leading hose market. Currently we have an opening for a North American Sales Manager- Agricultural Products.

This individual will be responsible for growing sales volume of agricultural hose products. They will be held accountable for executing sales plans to achieve sales goals within the United States and Canada. This individual will develop strong dealer relationships to effectively manage their territory which will include becoming familiar with the dealer's relative size, reputation, and strength for both current and target customers.


To be successful, the North American Sales Manager- Agricultural Products will need to understand the seasonal buying patterns of their target markets- understanding user needs to identity unique new products that the company can develop. Additionally, they will need to become familiar with competitor strengths and weaknesses to dominate the market. This role reports to the Senior Sales Executive and works closely with customer service team. This is a remote/ hands on field position ideally located in the heart of the mid-west.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of products, applications, features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Using the company CRM application, maintain a record of activity, contacts, quotations, and other industry specific information.
  • Prepare summaries of important trends influencing buyers in the target market area for management/forecasting use.
  • Proactively works with company's management team including operations, engineering, quality, marketing, and customer service to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded.
  • Keeps current on key competitor actions and product data with respect to new products, promotions, pricing activities, or other marketing programs.
  • Work with the Product Manager in the development and implementation of product demonstration, training programs, printed materials, and other projects.
  • Represents company at agricultural related trade shows and other professional activities.
  • Develops and maintains strong dealer relationships while growing the customer base.
  • Provides product training at the dealer and customer levels.
  • Other progressive responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree (technical discipline may be required for some groups) with a minimum of 5-7 years' experience in direct sales and/or distributor sales of industrial technical products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural, irrigation, slurry and hydraulics strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to travel overnight 50% to 70% of time; or as required.
  • Must have proven track record of exceeds plus experience.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced industrial work environment.
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions, as well as understand and apply more complex calculations such as gross profit/gross margin and averages.
  • Solid computer skills including use of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs.
  • Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner who can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.

Ability to sit, stand, walk and drive. Work environment includes a wide variety of situations including: manufacturing, mining, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000-75,000 + Commission
