To learn more about our dynamic, stable and growing company, visit POSITION SUMMARY : The Quality Manager is directly responsible for the implementation of quality systems and initiatives within the facilities. This position is responsible for the daily operations as they relate to the production, packaging, receipt, storage, and release of food products manufactured within the facility. The individual in this position must establish relationships with not only her/his direct reports but within all departments in the organization to effectively cultivate a culture in which safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for performing all job requirements in a safe manner using the proper PPE and being a proactive safety role model with co-workers * Responsible for correcting/reporting unsafe behaviors or equipment to ensure a safe working environment * Responsible for cleanliness within the work department * Must have regular safety discussions with team and proactively listen to employees' safety concerns/suggestions; must provide applicable feedback and act upon those concerns as necessary * Active participation in IFP's Zero Harm safety program * Perform/execute job duties keeping the company's commitment to quality in mind, driving the department's mission and by being a role model for GMP's on the floor * Follow all food safety practices and processes applicable to the department * Monitor and maintain food safety activities as part of daily tasks * Enforce food safety plan while producing product * Developing, educating, maintaining, and motivating a quality team through a context of accountability, ownership and empowerment * Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals and objectives as they pertain to the position's direct reports * Create, implement, communicate, and maintain food safety and quality plans to ensure compliance to the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) ensuring conformity with regulatory and 3rd party standards and acknowledgement of customer standards * Responsible for the implementation of the IFP Quality Management System (QMS) * Responsible for practicing cross-functional management reviews of the business's quality performance and driving action from those metrics * Active Participation in the alignment of quality activities between all corporate manufacturing sites ensuring that the department's goals and practices are harmonized * Team with the R&D group to introduce and maintain product supply * Partnering with other members of the expanded leadership team to cultivate a quality culture that allows the IFP, Inc. to surpass our customer's expectations in quality * Review and Approve nonconformances in the facility * Maintain a trained team that performs internal GMP Audits in order to maintain an audit ready state within the factory * Appropriately and effectively represent Balchem during all external (Customer, 3rd Party, and Regulatory) facility audits; ensure closure of related corrective actions that result of said audits * Initiate and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes * Must develop cooperative relationships with other departments * Responsible for the quality budget REQUIREMENTS: * Must have an Associate's/Bachelor's degree. Food Science is preferred, however other sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Microbiology) will also be considered * Must have recognized 3rd party HACCP Training/Certification (or related experience) * A certified PCQI and SQF Practitioner is preferred * Proven understanding and experience working is a 21 CFR part 117 is required, an understanding or experience in 21 CFR part 111 is a plus * In depth knowledge of quality tools such as: Design Reviews, FMEA, Control Plans, Fault Tree Analysis, Product Validation/Verification using statistical techniques is desired * Experience working in a certified Quality Management System (QMS) * Experience hosting regulatory, 3rd party, and customer audits * Proven aptitude for coaching, mentoring, and teaching * Effectively communicate at all levels of an organization both internally and externally * Function at a high level in both a team environment and independently * Maintain flexible work schedule to contribute and support a 24-hour manufacturing operation * Excellent Project Management skills and ability to work project through to fruition * Proficient in MS Office, specifically, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word * Ability and willingness to learn, understand, implement and follow documented work procedures * Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment while moving multiple simultaneous projects forward #IN PI
