Systems Administrator III

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Project Overview:

Looker is a unified platform that powers data experiences and delivers actionable business insights to employees at the point of decision. Looker integrates data into the daily workflows of users to allow organizations to extract value from data at web-scale.

Looker DevOps strives to bring SRE practices and approaches towards supporting Looker production systems. DevOps team is an integral part of Looker engineering and our team keeps the Looker production environments stable and reliable. We are distributed in 3 different Global time zones to support our production systems 24X5.

Overall Responsibilities:

As a System Administrator, you will support our growing business as we expand our team. You'll support aspects of our infrastructure, design and implement key systems, and work closely with our developer and customer support teams.

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot operations and database issues for internal and external customers.

- Deploy application updates, manage infrastructure, and ensure system and network security.

- Develop custom tools, automate processes, and implement monitoring. Develop automated provisioning, and self-healing automation.

- Perform incident resolution and root cause analysis of outages and implement solutions to systematic failures.

Job Requirements:

Required Skills/Qualifications:

- Experience with Linux system administration.

- Experience working in production environments with AWS, Client, or Azure.

- Experience in Developer Operations or Site Reliability.

Nice to Have Skills/Qualifications or Not Required:

- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, configuration management, and monitoring tools.

- Experience in full-stack development or directly supporting full-stack development.

- Scripting or programming skills in any common language available on Linux.

- Experience with CI/CD infrastructure like Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform
