Overview:
Overview:The CAD Technician is responsible for providing design and drafting support to our Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales teams. This role generates technical information including: part models, assembly models, drawing documentation, bill of materials, service literature, and visual aids for a wide range of product lines.
Responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities: Assist in new product design, prototype builds, and manufacturing support of new and existing designs Create and maintain solid models, assembly models, drawings, installation drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics in accordance with the Engineering drafting and documentation standards Create and maintain product definitions (numbers, names, etc.) Create and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) Create and maintain ECO (Engineering Change Order) records within the ECM (Engineering Change Management) system for revisions. Provide technical support to internal and external customers Assist Marketing and Sales in the development of product literature Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Associate of Science degree or higher in mechanical drafting or equivalent combination of experience and education. 2 years of experience in 3D design and mechanical drafting in a manufacturing environment, preferred Depending on location, knowledge of basic mechanical, fluid power, and/or electrical principles, preferred. Experience with SolidWorks 2010 or newer. Working knowledge of MS office Good oral, written, and presentation skills. Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced work environment. Self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities. Detail oriented with an appreciation for deadlines. Enthusiastic attitude with good listening skills.
