We are currently hiring full-time Operatorsto work throughout the central United States.Position consists of general heavy equipment operation for construction. Digging or trenching equipment operators can operate a variety of equipment, used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground utilities, in a safe and effective manner.Responsibilities:Safely operates trenching or digging equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Plow, Chain Trencher, Backhoe/Excavator, Rock Saw, Dozer/Lead Tractor, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment/Haul Water)Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the jobsiteDig pits, trenches or potholes as directed by job plan including windows when crossing utilitiesResponsible for the site set-up and clean-upLoad and unload tools, materials and equipment on truckWill be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting constructionSetting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging trafficQualifications:Must be experienced with Digging/trenching equipment and understand their capabilities and limitationsAbility to follow instructionsBasic ability to use small tools/hand tools.Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructionsMust have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving recordMust be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilitiesMust have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMust be very safety conscientiousMust be able to effectively communicate with crew, customers and vendorsTravel throughout the Central US corridor is required on a weekly and/or 10 day rotation basisPreferred Qualifications:Valid Class A Commercial Driver's license with tanker endorsementPrevious construction experience or utility construction experiencedAbility to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilitiesPhysical Requirements:Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objectsMust be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistanceDuties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
