Sr. Accountant

Accountemps is looking for a Senior Accountant for a great long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity. Operating as a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Key responsibilities

- Carry out monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

- Achieve compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners

- Ready monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

- Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

- Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Other projects as necessary

- General familiarity with month end closings

- Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

- Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience

- Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics experience highly desired

- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing, with functional department managers

- 5+ years of overall general accounting experience

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- A level of proficiency in financial reporting is preferential to this role

- Current and relevant ERP system experience

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are desired

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

- Strong organization skills

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
