Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Vice President, Academic Affairs. This position can be housed at any WITC campus location.

Position Overview

This position provides collegewide, functional leadership for Academic Affairs. Functional leadership responsibilities include general oversight for undergraduate curriculum and programming, non-credit public safety programming, adult basic education, assessment, and academic support. Functional leadership is administered through participation on the College Leadership Team and through oversight of the Academic Affairs Divisional Leadership Team. Regional leadership is administered through a Regional Leadership Team at each of the four college campuses.

    • Leading positive change while demonstrating civility and empathy.
    • Finding value in consistently acquiring and applying innovative ideas and technology to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead processes and activities related to undergraduate programming, including new programming and program suspension.
  • Lead collegewide teaching and learning assessment efforts.
  • Lead programming efforts in academic support, including the educational technology centers, academic coaching, adult basic education, math and writing labs, and tutoring activities.
  • Support distance education and other initiatives designed to improve access and flexibility for students.
  • Lead and coordinate the Academic Affairs Divisional Leadership Team.
  • Serve on the College Leadership Team representing Academic Affairs
  • Serve as a resource to strategic and ongoing teams for the purpose of aligning divisional goals with collegewide planning.
  • Represent WITC to WTCS as a representative for functional area(s) of responsibility.
  • Designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) to receive and report criminal incidents to the WITC Safety Office by virtue of this role's responsibilities at the College.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing required only occasionally.

Qualifications
  • Required:
  • Doctorate, or demonstrated ability to complete
  • Demonstrated knowledge of teaching and learning concepts and strategies, including those involving flexible delivery options
  • Four years related work experience
  • Five years supervisory/leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining accountability and motivation in self and others
  • Strong student-centered perspective with a focus on diversity, community, and continuous quality improvement
  • Problem-solving skills that employ critical thinking
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Experience leading projects through time management and effective delegation
  • Ability to obtain driver's license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy
  • Experience with strategic planning including the demonstrated ability to analyze data to determine direction and measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Experience overseeing, managing and aligning budgets, grants and resources effectively and strategically.
  • Preferred:
  • Five years of progressive leadership responsibility in post-secondary education or comparable setting
  • Demonstrated commitment to Career and Technical Education
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and in a multi-location organization through effective use of in-person and technology-based strategies
Salary

Vice President
$125,000 to $140,000 based on qualifications and experience.
