Our Minneapolis St. Paul, MN office currently has a fabulous opportunity for a Project Manager within the Construction Materials Department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor team members, assist the Department Manager with high level project management, and leadership of team. This office has a variety of clients in many sectors. With our vision toward growth, the ideal candidate will bring large project experience to the table preferably with DOT or other transportation clients. To be successful in this role, you will need to be focused on clients, having the ability to talk through their issues and help come up with creative solutions. This will be a hands on position, so we need someone with good construction materials consulting background - specifically with soil and concrete testing, and the ability to evaluate the results. This person will also coordinate the lab activities making sure tests are completed and delivered to the client in a timely manner. General Responsibilities: Directs the efforts of company personnel on one or more large and/or complex projects to ensure that all services are responsive to the client's needs, including being on time and within an identified scope and budget. Coordinates all of the interoffice and departmental personnel, equipment and technical experts required to complete the assigned projects and actively promotes additional services and projects whenever possible. Respond to project proposals, manage accounts receivable, mentor the staff, train technicians, and oversee quality systems. Essential Functions and Duties: Continually reviews the project's progress and evaluates technical data received from project staff for decisions to be made by company consultants the client, the contractor or other decision-making bodies involved in the project. Interviews and participates in the selection and development of contracts with any required consultants and coordinates their timely efforts during the course of the project. Assists office management and technical consultants with the formulation of strategies to promote a specific and/or large project. With general assistance from office management, organizes and assembles the resources required to serve the needs of a large project or a number of projects. Participates in periodic reviews of the project with respect to its schedule, design and/or construction cost, and prepares progress reports on a regular basis to company management and the client's representatives as needed. Completes the project records at the close of the project, documents the required close-out data, organizes the project records and turns them over to the office responsible for the project and its permanent project files. Approves proposals and approves invoices. Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience with a degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
