We believe there's power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people's lives.The Production Operator is the front-line employee who performs the manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the inputs and create the final high-quality final products. There are a variety of sub-classifications within the Operator job family that could range in specific duties from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes, to packaging the final product. In all stages of production safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation.SHIFTS: Monday - Friday with weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Primarily 2nd/3rd shift after completion of training.1st Shift Times: 5:00am - 1:00pm2nd Shift Times: 1:00pm - 9:00pm (extra $0.75/hr)3rd Shift Times: 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM (extra $0.75/hr)During the first 90 days, training may include all 3 shifts.WAGE RATE:$20.56/hr + shift premium for a 90- day probationary period. $0.50/hr increase after successful completion of probationary period.Land O'Lakes, Inc offers a competitive salary and bonus potential. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package as well as many other company sponsored benefits. Sign-On/Retention Bonus:$250 sign-on bonus paid on 1st day.$250 retention bonuspaid after successfully completing 90-day probationary period. $1,000 retention bonus paid after one year of employment. All totaledthis equals$1,500 in sign-on and retention bonus.Preferred Education:High School Diploma or GEDRequired Qualifications & Experiences:18 years or olderBasic computer skills.Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skillsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Manufacturing experienceSix months of work experience in any industryExperience communicating work order progress to supervisor and production operatorsKnowledge of various pieces of high tech food manufacturing processing and packaging equipment. Examples include but are not limited to baggers, palletizers, and cookers.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:18 years or olderAble to trouble shoot mechanical problemsAble to work in a fast-paced environmentWork in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the dayAdhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ability to demonstrate knowledge in their functions and ability to troubleshoot and fix system issues is preferredSelf-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervisionEnsures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasksCustomer focused and able to work in a collaborative teamAbility to be flexible in work performed and scheduleAbility to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skillsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
