Purchasing Assistant
Advent Office is looking for a Purchasing Assistant for our client located in Plymouth, MN. This is a full-time, contract to hire opportunity with a small, family-owned business. If you have previous purchasing/buying experience or are looking to kick-start your career path in buying, read on!

This client is a highly successful, family-owned business that was established in 2011. They are a commercial Interior Design firm that offers boutique services including budgeting, interior design and furnishings, procurement, logistics services, and installation.
About the Work
As the Purchasing Assistant you will:
Work to coordinate the purchase of products and materials on behalf of the organization.
Assist in reviewing and entering interior design specs and pricing into spreadsheets utilizing Excel.
Work directly with vendors while building and maintaining a positive working relationship.
Assist in administrative duties relating to purchasing, such as tracking orders and ensuring records are kept up to date.
Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers.
Additional responsibilities as needed.
About You
As a well-qualified candidate for this role, you:
Have 1+ years' experience in purchasing/buying and have a desire to grow your career in this path.
Possess knowledge of purchasing and supply chain processes.
Work well both individually and as a part of a team.
Are proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and pick up new software easily.
Have strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.

Compensation: $22-25/hour DOE
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
