Land Specialist

For this position, a bachelor’s degree with experience in land management is preferred. Candidates must have excellent communication and negotiating skills, as well as a working knowledge of real estate rights and title transfer. Must have excellent computer skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and self-directed time management skills. Must have general knowledge of the operation of electric transmission, and distribution systems. A working knowledge of land survey methods, legal land descriptions, county, township, and tribal government operations and ordinances, and GIS is important. Experience in researching title ownership is preferred. This position does require travel within the MN, ND and SD including overnight. 

The Land Specialist is accountable for acquisition and disposal of all land and land rights needed by the company for projects related to the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. Responsibilities include title research, line route selection support, securing land rights through permits, licenses, easements, purchases, and other agreements, as well as settlement of damage claims.
