Seasonal Aide - Building Maintenance

Purpose of the Position Benefits Supplemental Questions

This temporary/seasonal position assists in building maintenance and grounds duties on several City owned buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist in performing building maintenance duties, light plumbing, HVAC, electrical, building and grounds repairs.
* Painting interior and exterior of facilities.
* Perform maintenance of plant facilities, changing light bulbs, air filters, cleaning roof drains, park fountain, lawn mowing and trimming, and moving office furniture.
* Perform related work as required

Minimum Requirements: POSITION REQUIREMENTS

* High School diploma or equivalent
* Eighteen years of age or older
* Possession of a valid State of Wisconsin Class D driver's license.
* Physically able to perform manual work under all weather conditions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical effort required in walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting while performing shop and field maintenance work. Operate various hand and power tools (drills, saws, sanders, ladders, etc.). Must be able to work in a professional manner with co-workers, customers and public at large.

Additional Information: This is a temporary/seasonal position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the Summer Break. This position is limited to 1,200 hours during any rolling calendar year and is not eligible for any benefits.

Newly hired candidates who are selected for this position will start at the Year 1 rate of $12.80 per hour. Returning candidates to the same position will be paid according to the following chart:

Year 2 = $13.56 per hour

Year 3 = $14.30 per hour

Year 4 = $15.06 per hour

Satisfactory results of a background check, pre-employment physical evaluation, and drug screen are required for hire.
