We have two open Application Engineer positions with one specializing in our Aftermarket department.
AFTERMARKET APPLICATION ENGINEER
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to perform a variety of engineering and design functions to support the Sales Team that often include working on several active projects simultaneously to meet our customer's demand, including but not limited to:
- Review new project leads with Sales Team to devise an action plan.
- Work with Anguil Sales and Engineering Departments and/or Anguil Representatives to obtain and analyze engineering requirements relative to new projects.
- Understand and analyze engineering drawings (General Arrangement and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams) and descriptions (Operations Sequences) of the basic function of the equipment.
- Provide mark-ups for drawings to internal engineering personnel to communicate with Sales Team customers
- Calculate budgetary capital and operating costs for proposals.
- Technical proposal generation
- Costing of components and services using both internal and external resources.
- Reviews, compiles, and evaluates customer specifications relative to design requirements.
- Follow department procedures and guidelines in terms of lead/application progression, approvals, and data storage.
- Following equipment orders, ensure pertinent project details are passed to the Project Team.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP software
- Familiarity with oxidizers, air pollution control equipment, scrubbers, burners, fans, furnaces, ovens, industrial controls
- Support group marketing efforts by writing case studies, aid in technical content of equipment literature, and applications data sheets.
- Perform technology evaluations of existing equipment for Sales Team to help identify project requirements (Aftermarket).
- Analyze existing equipment to make recommendations on potential for improvement in efficiency, capacity, and/or maintenance (Aftermarket).
- Development of scope of work for various types of mechanical, electrical, PLC programming projects - including preliminary budgets (Aftermarket).
Qualifications & Competencies
Engineering degree preferred or technical design experience working with Oxidizers, Boilers, Fans, or Ovens
- Proven technical experience, 3-5 years
- Sales process understanding
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and ERP Systems
- Experience with capital equipment
- Communication - excellent written and oral communication
- Detailed - Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical - Synthesizes complex and diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data
- Design - Generates creative solutions; Uses feedback from Sales Team, Engineering Department, and Customers to modify designs and proposals; Demonstrates attention to detail
- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions
- Technical Skills - Understanding of technical topics including airflow, heat transfer, oxidation
