Mechanic - Diesel / Heavy Equipment

As a Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic at HBI, you will perform the essential work of supporting our field utility construction employees. Our mechanics repair and perform services on vehicles and the equipment used to install and maintain the telecommunication lines that keep our communities connected. There is a continuous need for the expansion of the telecommunications infrastructure, and our business is more important now than ever before as many people must work from home and attend classes online.

Holtger Bros., Inc. is offering up to a $3000 sign-on and working bonus* for an experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service utility construction equipment.

MECHANIC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to all vehicle and equipment.
• Performing electronic, hydraulic, engine and/or brake repairs.
• Analyze vehicle and equipment maintenance data.
• Complete repair paperwork.
• Complete follow-up paperwork.
• Order parts when needed
• Perform all shop and yard housekeeping procedures
• Working on equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bore rigs, hydrovacs, trucks and trailers, utility cable reel trailers, and more

MECHANIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diverse knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
• Must have experience in hydraulics, electronics, and brakes.
• Must have an insurance acceptable driver's license.
• Must have own tools.
• Must be able to operate equipment being repaired.

Mechanic Additional Information:

• Must be willing to travel throughout the state for equipment repairs
• A restriction-free Class A CDL preferred
