Position Description & Details:

The School of Natural Resource Sciences (SNRS) is an academic, research, and extension unit within the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources. We are seeking a responsible and motivated individual to provide administrative support for the SNRS.


Responsibilities will include a variety of tasks to assist with general office operations and support SNRS personnel. This includes, but is not limited to academic activities related to teaching/classes, students, recruitment, and training/safety compliance. It also includes assisting with hiring and payroll, front-line service, and supporting the Director and leadership of SNRS. We hope to find someone who will excel at their duties while also working well with our collection of students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, populations, and experiences.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; 12-month

Minimum Qualifications:

- Associate's degree or at least 2 years of college education

- At least one year of experience working in a customer service role (e.g. front-line customer service, virtual customer service, sales, tour guide, etc.)

- Evidence of excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree

- Familiarity with North Dakota State University and its academic processes (as student or staff)

- One year of administrative and/or office support experience

- Experience with social media including web site maintenance using CMS such as Typo 3

- Highly developed organizational and prioritization skills

- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting

- Good problem solver, resourceful, and self-motivated

- Utilize creative approaches to learning and taking on new responsibilities
