Position Information

Position Description & Details: T he Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for full time, student and part time employment programs and ensuring leadership, training and consistency across the department. This position will assist with full time staff development, training, recognition and assessment.

Responsibilities: Create a diverse communication and marketing strategy for recruitment, retention strategies and initiatives, training and developing programs that retain approximately 125 full time, 300+ student employees and 50+ part time employees in NDSU Dining. This position will also administer personnel and payroll functions for all dining employees. This position will assist with completing HR processes such as timekeeping, reviewing reports, tracking payroll expenses, maintaining records of training and confidential personnel files for all employees.

Work Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday, weekends and evenings as necessary

Advertised Salary: $44,000+/year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • One year of recruitment experience
  • One to two years of training and development experience
  • Strong technology skills and proficiency with common office applications including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong leadership and decision making abilities
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal/oral/written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively with campus departments and staff
  • Detail-oriented and s trong organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues that arise with both staff and customers in a constructive manner
  • Excellent leadership qualities to implement a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to delegate, prioritize and multitask
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, organizational development, human resources, hospitality, or related field
  • Two years of experience in the food service or hospitality industry preferred
  • Two years of experience supervising student staff preferred
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Experience developing training content (videos, documents,etc.) utilizing KPI's
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS and Financials, Recruiting Solutions, and other modules as needed
  • Experience with Docusign forms, such as payroll change forms, retro-distribution forms, etc.
  • Experience with finance and accounting
  • Experience with performance management processes and development
  • ServSafe certification preferred
