Job Description:

The Common Electronic Department is looking for individuals to support the circuit card design process by selecting, specifying, and determining application adherence for electrical components. Individuals will interface with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop component risk and verification data packages that will support component selections and provide justification to program customers. Component Engineers will identify parts to be included on the preferred parts list, drive usage of these standardized parts, provide recommendations to mitigate obsolescence issues, and identify solutions to meet customer component requirements. Team members will be exposed to all phases of the circuit card lifecycle from development through production and will present their findings through program design reviews.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Education/Skills:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree. Must be either currently pursuing degree or degree must have been granted in the last 18 months.
  • Coursework in one or more of the following areas: circuit design, circuit analysis, digital electronics, analog circuits, power design, RF design or printed circuit board design.
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.


Desired Skills:

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Technical working knowledge of electronic components (e.g. semiconductor, passive and/or electromechanical commodities) and their application.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, prioritize multiple tasks, motivate self and others, and collaborate in team environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
