We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee the daily construction activities. The primary responsibilities will be to manage and track project milestones and timelines, track, review, and approve in-house and sub-contractor daily production reports, and create and manage progressive project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the deployment, execution, and closeout of a variety of fiber optic projects to include fiber to the cell-site (FTTCS), fiber to the building (FTTB), fiber to the home (FTTH), backhaul, backbone.
  • Lead a construction team(s) within residential, rural, and metropolitan areas including in-house crews and sub-contractors.
  • Manage project budget, scope definition, and project life cycle with profit and loss responsibilities under Operation Manager's direction.
  • Manage and track project milestones and timelines. Track, review, and approve in-house and sub-contractor daily production reports, create, and manage progressive project documentation.
  • Track and ensure project KPI's are being established and met.
  • Manage relationships to coordinate with customers, city officials, jurisdictional authorities, utility representatives, and contractors.
  • Must perform on-site surveys and coordinate field meetings to ensure projects meet the delivery/commitment dates identified.
  • Represent CCI by attending preconstruction meetings, coordination with engineering firms, review and understanding project maps, creating budgets and work scopes.
  • Create estimates of proposed costs for future construction projects.
  • Request and obtain all applicable permits, estimating, and submitting all Bill of materials (BOM) for each project to the inventory specialist for fulfillment.
  • Review, approve, dispute, resolve, and submit invoices for payment.
  • Update and provide utility records accordingly such as fiber, kmz, Digger's Hotline, USIC, etc.
  • Respond to emergency underground or aerial damages; as first on-site, must be able to investigate, document and communicate critical incident information, may be required to deliver repair materials outside regular work schedule.

Skills we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Management, and/or Construction Management or certification in Project Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant construction, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
  • Experience preferred with OSP management, including quoting, construction, and delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of public right of way and ISP/OSP Fiber Optic Plant deployments to include maintenance of traffic (MOT).
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations as they pertain to OSP/Utility construction.
  • Ability to analyze project performance using general business mathematical skills, percentages, and fractions.
  • High proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Google Earth and/or the ability to learn new programs as needed.
  • Superior ability to engage and present information to management, colleagues, and public groups.
  • Well-organized with an ability to work in a high-pressure environment producing accurate work under close deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy equipment on a minimal basis.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required, ability to drive a DOT vehicle a plus.
  • Be able to communicate internally and externally the technical aspects of the project in a clear and concise way.

Shift is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but must be able to work outside normal business hours when required.

Additional Information: regional travel will be required including overnight trips and work outside normal business hours.
