You will write enforcement documents when enforcement action is decided and provide technical expertise to other department staff, the regulated community, and the public regarding major or complex issues. You will provide education and outreach to stakeholders relative to the enforcement of pertinent laws and regulations.Our Natural Resource Specialist 3 (Hemp Inspector) is a permanent full-time position, is based in Grant Pass, Oregon and is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).We, at Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) ensures that hemp growers, hemp handlers, and agricultural hemp seed producers are registered and that pre- and post-harvest testingof hemp and hemp products are conducted as required by Oregon hemp statutes and regulations.As the department regulates hemp in Oregon, it is our goal that this program provides:Assurance of compliance to state laws,Continued good health, safety and welfare to Oregon's citizens.Click here to view a full description of this positionWorking conditionsSome work may need to be conducted during evening hours and on weekends. Work locations away from the office will vary, including a variety of business, public and field locations. Driving great distances in all weather conditions and some overnight travel are required of this position. At least one year of the experience must be in researching, analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities; ANDA Bachelor's degree in an agriculture, horticulture, environmental sciences, entomology or a directly related area; ORA total of six years of related (pertinent) experience.A Master's degree in a Natural Resource related education will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.A Doctorate degree in a Natural Resource related education will substitute for up to two years of the required experience.A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.How to apply:CURRENT ODA EMPLOYEES (including -Seasonal employees): To apply for this position, you must apply through your Workday account.
