Position Summary:


As the ITSM Solution Architect you will be the subject matter expert, providing skill, knowledge and experience to set the strategic direction for the ServiceNow enterprise technology platform. This will be done in alignment with the overall information technology strategies for the enterprise. You will also conduct research to determine trends that impact the ServiceNow technology platform and ITSM processes and develop solutions providing more value and transparency to meet business requirements. Finally, you will set direction, provide guidance, and thought leadership to ITSM process owners to improve their competency in leveraging CMDB, incident, problem, asset, change, knowledge and service catalog management processes and streamline operations.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Advise ServiceNow module owners on the strategic direction of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Establish design and capability guidelines with new and existing ServiceNow module owners to ensure the overall integrity of the ServiceNow platform is maintained.
  • Architect ServiceNow solutions to ensure the enterprise is optimally utilizing the base system capabilities of the ServiceNow platform while meeting business requirements.
  • Define and implement policies, processes, and procedures following ITIL best practices for the enterprise using the ServiceNow technology platform. This includes:
  • Establishing and communicating enterprise best practices for ITIL processes to internal associates; especially Configuration Management, CMDB Maintenance, ITBM, HDRS and integrations with other ITIL processes.
  • Conducting and leading requirements gathering sessions and workshops for the Service Catalog, configuration models (CIs, attributes, and relationship models) and the CMDB.
  • Collecting and documenting business requirements.
  • Preparing design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Architecting integrations of ServiceNow and 3rd party solutions including and internally developed applications.
  • Develop and maintain standards and best practices for the enterprises usage of the ServiceNow platform by community developers.
  • Research and recommend new ServiceNow platform functionality and capabilities that will bring value to the enterprise.
  • Provide consulting services as the ServiceNow Solution Architect to business area related projects.
  • Provide project leadership and project coordination.
  • Train internal associates and administrators in the use and configuration of ServiceNow ITSM applications.
  • Produce and assemble business requirements documents, functional requirements documents, and solution design documents.
  • Conduct post-execution review to ensure effectiveness.


Qualifications:


  • Strong ITIL knowledge and certifications
  • In-depth experience with ServiceNow, for analysis, design, development, and integration with other applications.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and/or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • Project management and leadership skills (agile preferred) with proven ability to deliver outcomes on complex service management initiatives and transformations.
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information and ideas at all business levels.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
  • Three to five years of Solution Architect skills with the ServiceNow technology platform or comparable Service Management technology platform.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, education, and certification.

Physical job requirements:


  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
  • Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper)
