Description

The purpose of the Digital Marketing Specialist is:

  • Develop and manage effective digital marketing campaigns across a variety of mediums.
  • Create reports to effectively communicate results to campus stakeholders.
  • Optimize UND website and landing pages to increase quality score and relevance of marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain expertise on new technology and opportunities for communicating to our target audiences through digital mediums.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the Division Marketing & Communications and University of North Dakota staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and manage effective digital marketing campaigns across a variety of mediums.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective strategies are used and measured in marketing campaigns. This includes understanding the strategic objective(s) of the campaign and determining key performance indicators in comparison to industry benchmarks. Implement conversion tracking to ensure all campaigns have measurable objectives.
  • Create ads in multiple platforms including, but not limited, search, display and social media. Ensure all assets adhere to brand standards. Test the effectiveness of ads based on medium, message and creative differences. Provide actionable feedback based on performance and adjust campaigns accordingly.
  • Develop and monitor campaign budgets and performance. Use expertise to optimize spend.

Optimize UND website and landing pages to increase quality score and relevance of marketing campaigns.

  • Utilize keyword and SEO tools (such as Siteimprove) to optimize campaign and web performance.
  • Make strategic edits to webpages using a Content Management System (CMS), such as OmniUpdate. This includes adjustments to page load time, page copy, headings and meta data.
  • Collaborate with Web Manager to ensure optimal website performance for both search and user experience.

Create reports to effectively communicate results to campus stakeholders.

  • Use best practices to measure and evaluate campaigns. Make recommendations for improvement based on measurement.
  • Implement conversion tracking to ensure all campaigns have measurable objectives.
  • Show expertise in creating reports from ad platforms and Google Analytics.
  • Provide actionable feedback on the performance of digital campaigns

Maintain expertise on new technology and opportunities for communicating to our target audiences through digital mediums.

  • Research emerging trends in social media and digital platform usage among members of UND’s target audience. Use this research to support enrollment goals.
  • Complete professional development tasks including, but not limited to:
    • Annual Google Ads Certification
    • Annual Google Display Network Certification
    • Annual Google Analytics Certification

Serve as a contributing member of the Division Marketing & Communications and University of North Dakota staff.

  • Contribute to an optimistic and enthusiastic workplace that challenges and energizes staff.
  • Support the workplace culture of the Division and University by demonstrating the professional conduct and values expected of all employees.
  • Be forward thinking and explore new opportunities for growth and improvement. Continually improve and advance personal leadership through professional development and continuing education.
  • Attend staff meetings, retreats, planning sessions, trainings, and other meetings/events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with digital marketing
  • Experience creating paid digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience of marketing principles, practices, and trends
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with social media platforms, digital marketing best practices and website analytics
  • Experience working with Google platforms, such as Google Ads or Google Analytics
  • Experience with Facebook Ad Manager
  • Experience with SEO/Keyword Platforms
  • Google Ads Certification
  • Google Display Network Certification
  • Google Analytics Certification
  • Consideration will be given to remote work candidates. Candidates must reside in ND/MN and have the ability to visit campus monthly at their own expense

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$43,000-$45,000/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Benefits
