Senior Project Engineer, VikrellLocation:Kohler, WIOpportunityThis is more than a job posting for Kohler Company, one of the oldest and largest privately held companies in North America. This is an invitation to collaborate and apply your craft in a creative conscious and characterful culture.As a Senior Project Engineer, you will apply engineering fundamentals and practical problem solving to design components, subassemblies, and systems in all aspects of Sterling Vikrell (Compression & injection molded product line) bath and shower module new product development.Determines the technical feasibility of modifications to existing products and new product concepts. Coordinates work with designers, technical writers, Engineering technicians.Executes necessary product development process deliverables to support a successful launch. Examples include Bills of Material, Product Compliance Documentation, Engineering Drawings, etc.Maintains state-of-the-art awareness of relevant product technologies.Originates ideas for product and component features, modifications, and new products.Collaborates closely with operations and global technical centers to design and integrate products which can be successfully manufactured.Continually seeks a deep understanding of customer and installer needs. Proactively takes steps to improve their experience and institutionalize learning.Receives general direction, but exercises discretion as to personal work details. Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking. Willing and successful in taking moderate risk.Capable of developing new products from concept through production.Skills/RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum four years' related product design and development experience with specific knowledge of DFSS and robust design.Proficiency with a CAD system (Pro-E preferred ) is desirable. Experience with SAP is a positive as well as an ability to research and manage product data.
