***This position offers the opportunity to work from home. You also will be working face-to-face with employees and business partners in the Madison market. (50% from home, 50% in market)***

Position Summary:

Responsible for managing a team of remote lenders. Mentor and train your team to meet performance goals and develop careers within the organization. Lead your team with compassion and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. Business planning and strategic thinking: using analytics to build business plan and develop team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with other area businesses to effectively meet the financial needs of the community.
  • Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained lending staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
  • Responsible for managing sales activities and ensuring the achievement of new and existing revenue generating targets that support the company's objective.
  • Seeks to continually improve the use experience through technology and efficient processes.
  • Conduct loan interviews. Process, approve and/or close loans.
  • Uses coaching as the primary tool for improving staff performance by holding regular coaching sessions and documenting results.
  • The Sales Manager will work closely will work closely with branch offices to ensure a consistent brand delivery across all channels.
  • Ensure that staff receives on-going training.

Expectations:

  • Provide exceptional member service to our members.
  • Abide by all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Effectively focus and direct the work of staff in order to achieve lending goals.
  • Mentor and train staff to assist with retention and succession planning efforts.
  • Effectively present credit union products and services to members to grow the business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of consumer, residential, and commercial lending processes.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships.
  • Ability to influence, educate, and connect customers to technology.
  • Skills in managing performance, motivating, and developing staff.
  • Skills in managing a remote team.
  • Ability to provide management reports on activity and results.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to Credit Union operations.
  • Skills in evaluating staff and assessing performance.
  • Ability to manage change and implement process improvements.
  • Skills in leading meetings, on both a group and one-on-one basis.
  • Ability to build community contacts and the business locally.

Experience:

  • Previous Leadership experience in Banking/Financial Services.
  • Consumer, Commercial and Mortgage Lending experience.
  • Previous loan review & approval authority desired.
  • Experience of business development/sales highly desired.

Education: College Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field highly desired. Postgraduate Degree a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with members of community leaders, business leaders, and internal managers. Coaching others to perform new tasks beyond their current responsibilities and encouraging others to continuously build on their skills will be key to success for incumbents. External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the company overall. Ability to manage relationships, persuade, manage conflict and solve problems is important to the role.

Other Skills: Above average computer skills required. Must be analytical, detail oriented, and have ability to manage change effectively.

This position may include regular driving; a driving record review is required.

Must have desire and ability to work remote.
