Industrial EngineerLocation: Kohler, WIOpportunityAlign the efforts and develop the capabilities of the Cast Iron through coaching, teaching, and sharing of best practices. Ensure that activities are consistent with and built upon Kohler's KOS System.Mentors others to identify and perform assignments through the > philosophy.Executes and mentors Problem Solving techniques to identify Countermeasure actions as well as Root Cause definitive solutions to productivity's mayor hitters.Leads tactical multi-step improvement plans.Effectively coaches CI to all levels of the organization.Provide input for and lead improvement of key strategic business goals for the organization. These measures specifically target improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Sustainability.Models results-oriented systems to drive and execute Kohler Operating System initiative.Guides teams to select projects/initiatives that will result in significant business impact.Provide financial justification to CI elements implementations.Specific ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Lead projects of moderate risk and business impact.Specialized depth of skills in the Continuous Improvement tools.Provide structure and leadership for a Cultural Evolution and the right environment for all Cast Iron associates.Proactively identify high priority areas were CI implementation would deliver high benefits for the business, customer satisfaction and people engagement.Identify, negotiate, and manage internal customers to ensure their commitment to the CI initiative.Coordinate all internal and external resources required for a successful KOS Tier 2 Certification on Production Flow element.Relentlessly look for process flow constraints, ensuring Lead Times and Inventory reductions in all Cast Iron value streams.LeadershipMentor Front Line Leaders, Support Departments and Floor associates through the Cultural Change and CI implementation.Challenge teams to achieve innovative solutions and create sustainable systems to ensure improvement.Willing and successful in taking moderate risk.Teach others about cultural differences and how to work effectively across cultures.Identify opportunities for organizational and process change and implement change.Work effectively when organizational structure or processes are unclear or conflicting.Lead brainstorming discussions.Able to facilitate & resolve conflict, including cross-cultural.Decision-makingMake decisions with high levels of uncertainty.Chooses appropriate action and alternatives with rationale that is consistent with facts, constraints, and predicted consequences.Take independent action with insight into both regional and global business impact.Willing to speak up and raise concern in Cast Iron's strategy deployment.Skills/RequirementsEngineering Bachelor's Degree required with minimum of 2-year experience directly with tools and methods in a Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma with responsibility for Multi-teams deployment. Demonstrated experience in the following:Ability to teach, mentor, and coach across multiple levels of an operation.Proven ability to use systematic problem solving to solve technical challenges.Multi-teams responsibility for system deployment (KOS) with proven ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.Excellent team facilitation skills. Build teams in a collaborative work style; Previous successful experience in team building and motivating others.Strong Leadership and Change Agent skills.
