3d cad experience with machining and sheet metal. Tubing or tube steel structures would be nice too. Weldments
Heavy truck or equipment background is desirable.

If they are just out of school, looking for hands on experience / mechanical aptitude / automotive .
Hobbies can also be a good indication of mechanical aptitude, working on cars, building houses or wood working,
Work experience in design is preferred.

JLTV Designers on International Platform team - JLTV modifications for customer specific orders/other country requirements. Aggressive deadline to execute design, analysis, and BoM release. Contractors required to complete chassis design tasks for this project and support other SME teams to ensure timely completion of the project and prototype release of BoM. Include design work, completing & checking drawings, loading prototype work orders, and supporting the prototype build. May be required to travel locally to production sites.

MUST have Associates degree, CREO experience. CATIA helpful.

SUMMARY:

  • The Associate Layout Designer will support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computer-aided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified components and Bill of Materials (BOM) in accordance to the Oshkosh standards.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
    o Update current drawings per markups based on direction from engineering; re-master CAD drawings to current format.
    o Use computer-aided drafting systems to create 3D and 2D layouts, following the direction of design team members.
    o Self-check own work to ensure accuracy and organization, dimension and tolerance convention, and conformance with established CAD specification and standards.
    o Utilize ERP systems to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    o Associate degree in Mechanical Design.
    o Verbal and written communication skills.
    o Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.
    o Detail oriented.
    o Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.
    o Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    o Associate degree with internship experience in drafting/design.
