Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for a Design Engineer - Electrical to work in our Roseville, MN location.

Position Summary:

The candidate will work in the product development engineering department leading and assisting embedded systems development for new and existing products.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

??? Motivated, self directed, and the ability to make risk balanced decisions.
??? Performs upfront design analysis of technically complex nature, to determine capability of new designs to meet input criteria and requirements.
??? Determines when product(s) are ready for release and provides authorization.
??? Strong history of effective communication within a cross-functional team and the ability to draw conclusion and make recommendations based upon inputs from multiple functions.
??? Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership for electrical engineering and customer oriented projects.
??? Travels to customer locations with sales staff to observe applications and collect information necessary for addressing specific customer needs.
??? Hands-on embedded system experience.
??? Strong skills in C/C++ Programming for both embedded and PC hardware.
??? Strong skills in networking technology (CAN, wireless, etc.)
??? Experience in hardware/PCB design is a plus.
??? Experience in BLDC motor control is a plus.
??? Ability to decompose complex problems into tasks lists and provide timing estimates.
??? Participates in the process of screening vendors and their products for use by Horton
