The Strategic Account Executive of National Accounts will be a critical part of the Client Management team responsible for the strategic development and performance of several Strategic Accounts, which represent large, complex National Accounts for OptumRx and UHC. The Account Executive will work closely with the Senior Account Executive, Clinical Consultant and Pharmacy Account Manager to develop and execute an OptumRx business strategy in collaboration with UHC for achieving financial and execution objectives for the assigned clients.

If you are located in Central or Western Region, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops relationships with client leadership and understand clients' unique needs to leverage our product portfolio to provide solutions that deliver on financial objectives
  • Develops a positive working relationship with the UHC and Optum teams and demonstrates a team approach
  • Define customer needs to enable company to differentiate and position for retention and growth
  • Understand the competitive landscape and effectively position pharmacy management programs, in client meetings, industry forums, broker and consultant meetings
  • Organize internal resources as necessary to support pharmacy growth and retention for existing clients
  • Channel customer needs and expectations into the larger organization's priorities initiatives and services
  • Develop and monitor client financial performance including renewal planning, negotiation and profitability levels
  • Coordinate and influence superior customer service delivery by developing and maintaining strong intercompany relationships
  • Effectively represent Our UHG Culture and demonstrates UHG values internally and externally

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of account management experience in the healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of experience in National Accounts with large employer and/or health plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with employer benefit consultants
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Reside in the central or western portion of the US
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PBM experience
  • Pharmacy consulting experience
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and ability to build credibility to gain the respect and confidence of clients and consultants

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
