Ob Responsibilities
Provides leadership for corporate accounting team
Responsible for month end close process including multiple, higher risk account reconciliations
Knowledgeable of complex GAAP concepts, practices and procedures of accounting, performs GAAP research and prepares GAAP memos
Prepares financial statements and related footnotes; performs financial statement analysis (e.g. budget vs. actual variance investigation)
Responsible for select areas of internal controls and internal control framework; involved in the development of controls
Reviews work of direct reports and identifies/leads accounting analytical projects (e.g. budget vs. actual variances)
Subject matter expert in select areas and primary resource for external parties (auditors, etc.)
Oversees projects of direct reports and leads projects as assigned
Prepares initial budget for select account(s) and/or department
Performs ad hoc projects
Qualifications
4 year degree in accounting required, 5-8 years of prior experience with such time in public accounting a strong plus; CPA strongly preferred or similar relevant certification (e.g. CMA, CGMA, etc.)
Prior management experience
Above average written and verbal communications skills
A team player and effective communicator
